Shipra Ojha Principal Audiologist & Founder of Hearsmart

“An effort made for the happiness of others lifts us above ourselves.”

Shipra Ojha is the Principal Audiologist and founder of Hearsmart Hearing Solutions. She has a Master of Audiology with dual qualifications in Speech and Hearing and did her original training in India. Shipra completed her Master’s Degree that dually qualified her in Audiology and Speech Pathology in 1992. She worked in America before migrating to Australia with her husband Umesh Sharma who was awarded a university scholarship to complete his doctoral degree from the University of Melbourne. Umesh is now a Professor in Disability and Education at Monash University.

Umesh and Shipra established Hearsmart in 2006 with a mission to provide independent and personalised care and solutions to people with hearing needs.

Shipra Ojha loves learning and continues to keep adding to her already large knowledge base in audiology. She is soon to offer vestibular appointments to help with balance and dizziness issues.

When she is away from the clinic Shipra enjoys being with her family and entertaining friends. She loves the learning experience of travelling and looks forward to this freedom again in the future when restrictions ease. Shipra is currently learning the Italian language and sometimes surprises our Italian customers with a few phrases.

No referral needed! You can book directly with us. If you have a GP or specialist referral, bring it along — but it’s not required to see our audiologists.
We’re proudly independent, which means we’re not tied to any hearing aid manufacturer. That gives us the freedom to recommend the best solution for you — not for sales targets.
A standard hearing assessment usually takes around 45–60 minutes. We take the time to explain your results and answer any questions without rushing.
Yes! We provide hearing assessments for both adults and children. Our clinic is family-friendly and equipped to support little ears as well as older ones.
